About us

MAJA & ANDERS

Our collaboration began in the summer of 2022 at Rydeholm, where Maja and her family stayed for several weeks — an encounter that resulted in the film “"The forest garden at Rydeholm”, based on interviews with Anders. Since then, we have worked closely for some years within the board of Agroforestry Sweden, Rotverket is our shared platform for projects and collaborations we pursue together or individually.

ACTIVITIES & PURPOSE

We provide consultancy in agroforestry, offering guidance, planning, reporting, implementation, and follow-up of agroforestry projects. Our work also extends to related areas such as gardening, landscape development, and ecological enrichment. We share knowledge through education and communication —using film, photography, design, and writing — with assignments for farmers, businesses, organisations, and public institutions.

Maja Maja is an award-winning filmmaker (including the Guldbagge Award), photographer, graphic designer, and project manager. She served as a board member of Agroforestry Sweden from 2021 to 2025. Since 2019, she has been producing films portraying agroforestry pioneers.

At Agroforestry Sweden, she contributed to the financing and organization of an agroforestry conference at SLU in Alnarp 2022, Sweden’s Centre for Agricultural Sciences, as well as to the booklets "Agroforestry for Swedish conditions" (photography, layout, and coordination), the booklet "Unhide Agroforestry" (photography, texts, layout) and 3 short films. More about the cross country project Unhide Agroforestry, supported by Erasmus+.

"If I were to articulate the focus of my work, it is to make visible humans interacting in ways that support ecological processes within food-producing landscapes. After eight years of documenting pioneers in agroforestry, I now see the next phase as employing film as a platform for dialogue among stakeholders, exploring diverse nature-based, adaptive, and regenerative approaches to the stewardship of multifunctional, food-producing landscapes."
