agroforestry conference in switzerland, june  2026

On June 21–26, 2026, we, Maja Lindström Kling and Anders Lindén, will participate in the EURAF Agroforestry Conference 2026 in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. This year’s conference focuses on agroforestry for food security in a changing world, Alpine summer pasture in Southern Europe among other topics. *Every two years, 400+ farmers, researchers and policy makers gather to exchange knowledge across national borders.

To us this is a valuable opportunity to visit inspiring European examples and to network with and learn from our European neighbours. Exploring European Agroforestry Workshop.

collaboration on forest grazing with plockhugget & Regenerative sweden, 2026

Together with Plockhugget AB & Regenerative Sweden, we are currently in an application process for project funding from the Swedish Forest Agency to highlight forest grazing as nature conservation, and on how to create functional forest edges, with and without grazing. Rotverket's contribution includes 6 short films. A decision is expected in May 2026.

Farmforce

As a project employee of Agroforestry Sweden, Anders Lindén organised a study tour across Sweden in May 2026 for participants in the Swedish–Ukrainian FarmForce project (2024–2026). The tour enabled exchanges with farmers, agroforestry pioneers, and local initiatives to strengthen small-scale food production and local food systems in Ukraine—both of which have been crucial for food security during the war. The project is carried out in collaboration with Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, and WWF-Ukraine.

Horizon Europe Collaboration on Soil Health in Agroforestry, 2027

MAJA & ANDERS

Our collaboration began in the summer of 2022 at Rydeholm, where Maja and her family stayed for several weeks — an encounter that resulted in the film "The forest garden at Rydeholm”, based on interviews with Anders. Since then, we have worked closely for some years within the board of Agroforestry Sweden,

AgrOFORESTRY - A CARETAKER's DEVOTION, IN A POST FOSSIL FUEL ECONOMY

Agroforestry is an umbrella term for ancient, food-producing systems adapted to contemporary practice, suitable for farmlands, meadows, pastures, forests, forest edges, and along waterways, where diverse woody plants are integrated with crops and/or livestock to provide ecosystem services that restore, revitalize, and stabilize edible and productive landscapes.
